About Us
We live in Massachusetts, USA, close to Denis' parents, siblings and extended family. He has somewhat of a confusing family tree: his parents are divorced and both remarried, each with their own families. Denis has worked for the Air National Guard on the local base for many years.I (Natalie) recently graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems in BC, Canada, where my family lives. In the first week of May 2005 I moved to Massachusetts for good. Before the move I was working as a freelance graphics designer for a company in Vancouver, BC. I intend to re-start my business in the United States once I get work permit from immigration.
We met in the summer of 2001, at a mutual friend's get-together in Seattle. We developed a close friendship and were talking online every day. I can honestly say he was my best friend. In January 2002 I booked a flight to visit him during my 6-day spring break. I arrived at 11pm on February 14 - a coincidence, but fitting! Thus began a three-year long-distance relationship as I finished my bachelor's degree; it was not financially possible for me to transfer to a university in Massachusetts, unfortunately, though we tried. So I spent the past three summers in Massachusetts for four months each time (much to the disgruntlement of the immigration officers, who didn't like that), returning to BC after labor day for the start of the next term. Christmas we alternated between the two locations - a tradition we plan on continuing.
On September 3, 2004 - Natalie's 22nd birthday - while at dinner with friends in Atlanta, Denis proposed. I of course immediately said yes. :) Shea (friend of ours) yelled, "It's about time!"
We share our home with Den's crazy German Shepherd, Zeeke; Natalie's new Sheltie-mix puppy, Zoe; and our cat-with-attitude, Joey (renamed JoJo, to prevent confusion). Zeeke and JoJo were adopted from local shelters, and Zoe was adopted from a rescue based out of eastern Massachusetts. (For more about the pets, including pictures, visit their site!)
